History of mass vocational education and training in Europe from the First Industrial Revolution. Industrialisation produced different vocational training models. This study attempts to isolate three ‘classical’ training models: the liberal market economy training model in England, the state bureaucratic model in France and the corporatist dual vocational training system in Germany.
